Pacific Gas & Electric is one of the largest combination natural gas and electric utilities in the United States. The company provides natural gas and electric service to approximately 15 million people throughout a 70,000-square-mile service area in northern and central California.
PG&E hired Razorfish to redesign their online billing web site. I lead a team of 4 front end developers in building a dynamic front end architecture. The modular DHTML templates were designed to address localization and performance considerations while also matching the sleek artistic direction and user interaction needs.
The new site provides customers with a rich feature set of options, including real-time information on power and gas usage, environmentally oriented tips on how to reduce consumption, and a variety of options and settings for account details and billing configurations.
